Neighbors was a band that I admired from afar for awhile. They became buddies with iji while playing shows together in Seattle but I didn’t catch a set of theirs until at least a year after I first became aware of them. To call them garage rock would be to rob them of their nuanced combination of transparent relationship laments and party jams. People call them Seattle’s version of Pavement. It’s certainly not far off. Fuzzed out, peaking, and feeling good.
